Wheel culture can be an intimidating place for women and queer individuals. Often times they face judgement or ridicule for even trying to enter these communities which have been traditionally dominated by men.
AXL is a magazine focused on creating community and discourse for these underrepresented individuals in wheel culture. Its purpose is to inspire people to get out there and ride.
The art direction is playful and edgy, appealing to an audience that values experimentation. It uses intentional typography, designing with Full Frontal, a typeface by Anne-Dauphine Borione.
